Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan and PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh issued a strong statement criticizing BJP leadership, particularly National BJP President JP Nadda and MP Anurag Thakur, for their inability to secure Himachal Pradesh’s financial support from the central government. The ministers accused the BJP of having an “anti-state agenda” and questioned the lack of funds owed to the state.
They emphasized that after reinstating the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for 1.36 lakh employees, the BJP has been conspiring against the Congress government. They pointed out that Rs. 10,000 crore, contributed by employees towards the National Pension Scheme (NPS), is being held by the central government. The ministers also condemned restrictions on state borrowing and questioned the absence of a Rs. 1,780 crore grant for OPS implementation.
Further, they criticized the BJP for overburdening the state treasury by distributing Rs. 5,000 crore in freebies and neglecting disaster relief funds. The Congress government has allocated Rs. 4,500 crore for disaster recovery, while BJP leaders allegedly walked out of the Assembly, ignoring the state’s needs.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to welfare, transparency, and reforms for Himachal’s progress, accusing the BJP of attempting to tarnish the government’s reputation for political gain.
