Himachal Implements E-KYC to Prevent Benami Land Deals

The Himachal Pradesh government has initiated the E-KYC process to curb benami land transactions and improve land record transparency. The responsibility has been assigned to patwaris, with directives issued by the Directorate of Land Records. The process includes linking land records with Aadhaar, creating unique land IDs, and enabling SMS alerts for any changes. Farmers need to submit documents like jamabandi copies, Aadhaar, and mobile numbers. A mobile app with facial recognition technology will be used for the process.
