Himachal HC Issues Notice to MLA Ram Kumar Over Illegal Stone Crushers

Shimla, January 10, 2025: The Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued a notice in connection with illegal operations of stone crushers in Solan district’s Baddi, Barotiwala, and Nalagarh areas. The court has directed the state government, Pollution Control Board, and MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary, whose two crushers are involved, to respond to the petition. The petition alleges that stone crusher units in the BBN area have been operating beyond their permit and pollution clearance periods, with many units expanding from one crusher to 8-10 units without disclosure. The matter has raised concerns over illegal mining practices and environmental violations.
