Himachal Govt Ensuring Relief for Rain-Hit Families: MLA Sanjay Awasthi

Arki, Sept 11 – Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi directed the local administration to continue relief and rescue operations on a war footing for people affected by heavy rains in the region. Chairing a disaster management review meeting, he asked officials to personally visit affected areas, provide immediate assistance, ensure food supply, and prioritize road restoration.

Awasthi said the state government stands firmly with the victims and will provide all possible aid without any shortage of funds. He informed that in Arki subdivision, 82 houses were damaged, including 6 completely and 76 partially, while the region suffered losses worth around ₹60 crore. Houses alone suffered damage worth ₹38 lakh. So far, ₹50,000 cash relief and 18 tarpaulins have been distributed among affected families. Out of 164 blocked roads, 159 have been reopened, and the remaining five will be restored soon.

He emphasized that in this difficult time, collective efforts are needed to bring normalcy back to the lives of affected families. The meeting was conducted by SDM Arki Nishant Tomar.
