Himachal Governor virtually Joins PM on launch of PM-SURAJ Portal

                        Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who was on his visit to Nahan in district Sirmaur today, virtually joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who launched the Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan (PM-SURAJ) National Portal’.

     The beneficiaries of the welfare schemes were also present on the occasion who witnessed the launch of the PM SURAJ portal along with the Governor.

     Later, while interacting with the beneficiaries, the Governor said that this Social Upliftment and Employment Based Public Welfare portal was launched with an objective to ensure economic empowerment of weaker and deprived sections of the society through credit support by the banks throughout the country at concessional interest rates.

     “I believe that this portal represents a powerful platform designed to streamline the delivery of essential services, enhance transparency and promote inclusive growth across the country”, said Sh. Shukla.

     He said that in a large and diverse country like India, ensuring timely delivery of government services to every citizen was an important task.  He added that through this portal, citizens would get easy access to the government services, from healthcare and education to social welfare and employment opportunities. He thanked the Prime Minister for launching this outreach programme for the deprived section.

     The Governor also distributed Ayushman Cards to the eligible persons and PPT kits to the sanitary workers.

     Earlier, Additional District Magistrate L.R. Verma welcomed and honoured the Governor on the occasion.

     Vivek Arora, District Welfare Officer detailed about various schemes of the Government being implemented for the welfare of the weaker section of the society.
