Himachal Delegation Engages Japanese Industry in Tokyo

In a significant step to enhance international investment opportunities, the Government of Himachal Pradesh delegation held an interactive session with leading Japanese industry representatives at the Embassy of India, Tokyo. The session aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, industrial collaborations, and exploring new avenues for investment in key sectors.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Madhusudan R, IFS, Deputy Chief of Mission, who emphasized the growing India–Japan partnership and highlighted the potential for collaboration with Himachal Pradesh in healthcare, manufacturing, and advanced technology.
The Himachal Pradesh delegation was led by Sh. Harshwardhan Chauhan, Hon’ble Industries Minister, accompanied by MLAs Sh. Anil Sharma (Mandi), Sh. Bhawani Singh Pathania (Fatehpur), and Sh. Hardeep Singh Bawa (Nalagarh). Senior officials, including Sh. R.D. Nazeem, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries); Dr. Yunus, IAS, Director of Industries; and Sh. Tilak Raj Sharma, Additional Director of Industries, along with industry leaders from the state, presented investment opportunities to Japanese counterparts.
A presentation by Dr. Yunus showcased investment potential in Adventure and Spiritual Tourism, MSME development under the RAMP program, and the upcoming Reverse Buyer–Seller Meet (RBSM) with Japanese participation. The Additional Chief Secretary emphasized opportunities in ropeway projects, Bulk Drug Park, electric vehicles, and tourism infrastructure, while lauding JETRO’s role in promoting SMEs and startups.
Reaffirming the state’s investor-friendly policies, Sh. R.D. Nazeem assured single-window clearance and robust infrastructure support. Hon’ble Industries Minister Sh. Harshwardhan Chauhan underlined the state’s focus on green industrialization, rural entrepreneurship, and sector-specific incentives under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sh. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He invited Japanese enterprises to visit Himachal Pradesh to explore opportunities firsthand.
Prominent Japanese representatives from JETRO, Medical Excellence JAPAN, RX Japan, and ICEPHARMA Japan attended the session, engaging in discussions on healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced medical technologies, and industrial collaborations.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by the Embassy, reaffirming the mutual commitment to deepen Indo–Japan economic cooperation and build long-term partnerships across high-value sectors.
