Himachal Civil Defense: Raising Awareness on Natural and Human-Made Disasters
1 min readShimla, December 5: Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh emphasized the role of the Himachal Civil Defense in creating awareness about natural and human-made disasters. He was speaking as the chief guest at the inter-battalion band competition organized under the “Nishkam Seva-Surakshit Himachal” program, held on the historic Ridge in Shimla to mark the 62nd Civil Defense Foundation Day.
Singh congratulated participants from all 12 battalions for their dedication to selfless service and public safety. He highlighted that the Civil Defense was established to assist in emergency situations and collaborate with the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other agencies. The organization has played a vital role in disaster mitigation and raising public awareness.
The event featured patriotic performances by the participating battalions. Singh also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing disaster management equipment and techniques for the public.
Prominent attendees included Director General Satwant Atwal and Deputy Director General A.K. Parashar, among others.
