The Himachal Pradesh budget session will take place in the first week of March, with 18 to 20 sittings expected. Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania shared this update in an informal chat with the media. The final date for the session will be decided in the upcoming Cabinet meeting and sent to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla for approval. CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present his third budget in March. This follows his first budget in March 2023 after Congress came to power in December 2022. After the budget presentation, both ruling and opposition members will engage in discussions in the assembly. CM Sukhu has returned to Shimla after campaigning in Delhi for the Congress and will meet with officials to discuss the budget in the coming days. Additionally, meetings for legislators’ priorities for the 2025-26 annual budget will be held on February 3-4.
