Solan, Mar 17: Reacting to the state budget presented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, BJP spokesperson Vivek Sharma termed it as heavily influenced by the “freebie culture.” He stated that while the budget focused on strengthening the rural economy and empowering public representatives, it ignored key sectors like avocado, kiwi, flower, vegetable farming, indoor mushroom cultivation, and saffron production, which have the potential to generate revenue in dollars at the international level.
Sharma further criticized the budget for failing to address the concerns of unemployed youth, local traders, and outsourced employees. He also pointed out that the tourism sector was neglected as the government failed to focus on road infrastructure.
He highlighted the closure of over 400 educational institutions and blamed migration from the state due to rising unemployment. Sharma also mocked the government for renaming central schemes after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and sarcastically thanked the Chief Minister for mentioning Acharya Charak Wellness Centre for the first time.
Sharma concluded by quoting the CM’s own words, “Change is the rule of nature,” and predicted a change in government by May 15.
