BJP has initiated state-wide programs in Himachal Pradesh to support ‘One Nation, One Election’. Former minister Suresh Bhardwaj and MLA Jeet Ram Katwal have been appointed as state convenor and co-convenor, respectively. A 13-member committee, including key BJP leaders, has been formed to strategize and promote the initiative.
During a seminar at Punjab University, Bhardwaj emphasized the benefits of synchronized elections, stating that it would streamline governance and reduce financial burden. The Election Commission estimates a cost of ₹7,951 crore for nationwide simultaneous elections by 2029.
