Shimla, March 15, 2025: Himachal Pradesh BJP Media In-charge Karn Nanda has slammed the Congress government, accusing it of complete law and order failure after unidentified assailants fired multiple rounds at former Congress MLA Bamber Thakur at his official residence in Bilaspur. The attack also left Thakur’s PSO critically injured, who is currently admitted to AIIMS Bilaspur, while Thakur has been shifted to IGMC Shimla.
Nanda stated that this shocking incident reflects the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, where neither leaders, employees, police personnel, nor businessmen are safe. He highlighted that this is not the first attack on Bamber Thakur, as similar incidents occurred on 23rd February 2024 and 20th June 2024, raising serious concerns about the safety of political leaders.
Nanda further pointed out a series of violent incidents in the state, including the Chamba murder case, Baddi open shooting, assault on Mandi SDM, and Una double murder case, emphasizing that 138 murders, 498 rapes, 1,643 thefts, and 4 robbery cases have been registered in the last 18 months. He also revealed that 16 murders occurred in the first 50 days of 2025 alone.
The BJP leader demanded an impartial investigation into the Bilaspur shooting and urged the Congress government to restore law and order in the state.
