Hill Cutting Banned in Sirmaur District Till August 31 to Prevent Monsoon Disasters

Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority, Sirmaur, Priyanka Verma, has issued an order prohibiting hill cutting across the district until August 31, 2025. The restriction applies to all private construction and non-essential development activities, excluding works related to disaster mitigation, restoration of public infrastructure, roads, water supply, power, and emergency services.

The order aims to safeguard human life, property, and critical infrastructure, as well as to protect the fragile ecological environment of the region during the ongoing monsoon season. All executing agencies including MoRTH, PIU Paonta Sahib, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, and department heads have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
