Heavy Rains: Schools Closed in Kullu, Banjar & Manali

Kullu, Aug 27 – In view of flash floods, landslides, and damage to infrastructure caused by heavy rainfall, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kullu has ordered closure of all educational institutions in Banjar and Manali subdivisions on August 28, 2025.

Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Raveesh, IAS, said the decision was taken to ensure student safety following reports from SDMs. Additionally, four schools in Kullu subdivision — GSSS Shalang, GSSS Raison, GSSS Katrain, and GPS Narogi — will also remain shut.

Authorities have been directed to ensure strict compliance and prioritize safety measures.
