Mandi, Himachal Pradesh: In the wake of heavy rainfall and incidents of cloud bursts, flooding, and landslides in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh in recent days, the National Highway 21 (NH-21) between Mandi and Pandoh has suffered significant damage. Taking note of the situation, Mandi District Magistrate Arindam Chaudhary has issued orders to keep the highway closed for traffic for three hours daily until further notice for repair and restoration work.

According to the orders, repair and restoration work will be carried out on the Mandi-Pandoh stretch daily from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. During this time, vehicular traffic on the highway will be halted. Traffic diversion points will be established approximately four miles from Mandi and nine miles from Pandoh. The District Magistrate has instructed the NHAI Mandi’s Project Director and the Managing Director of KMC Company to ensure the timely completion of repair and restoration work.

The recent heavy rains and related incidents have necessitated these measures to safeguard public safety and address the damage to the highway caused by adverse weather conditions.
