CMO’s designated as appropriate authority for registration of new PCVC

Shimla, April 29 – A Spokesperson of the state government informed here today that Chief Medical Officers of concerned districts have been designated as an appropriate authority at district level to take decision on the registration of new Private Covid Vaccination Centre (PCVC) on COWIN within two days of the receipt of the application or request of concerned private institutions.

The Spokesperson said that the criteria for the registration of any private health facility to be operated as a Covid Vaccination Centre (CVC) must have sufficient cold chain equipment and capacity and rooms or space for waiting area, vaccination and observation post vaccination. He said that the CVC must also have sufficient number of trained vaccinators and verifiers alongwith the ability to manage the Adverse Events Following Immunisation (AEFI) , as per the norms and guidelines of the Ministry.
