Hamirpur: Kids’ booth corners will be set up at polling stations

Hamirpur , Nov 9 – In order to increase the percentage of voting in the assembly general elections and to provide necessary facilities to the voters at all the polling stations, many new initiatives are being taken by the office of the District Election Officer, Hamirpur.
As the latest measure, it has decided to set up Booth Kids Corners at all the polling stations for the convenience of babies and mothers.
District Election Officer Debasweta Banik said that along with the facility to accommodate small children and mothers at the booth kids’ corners, arrangements would also be made for milk, hot water, other materials, and toys, etc for them.
She said that women often face many problems outside the home with small children. Women who come to vote with young children also face problems at times.
The District Election Officer said that setting up these Booth Kids Corners would be of great convenience to the women and their babies, but it would also help in increasing the voting percentage in the district.
