The Dohkeshwar Dham was constructed within a short span of two years and will help in promoting the religious tourism and other economic activities.
The Governor stated that it was a day for him to be remembered and cherished as a devotee and having the privilege of paying obeisance before the many deities at one place.
He said that due to the construction of Bhakra Dam, many ancient temples and a large portion of the land along with habitation was submerged in the waters of Govind Sagar and efforts were afoot to reconstruct and restore the old glory of the temples of the town.
The Governor said that Dohkeshwar Dham was itself a unique masterpiece of architecture and this Dham should be publicized enough to make it a global attraction. “It was God’s will that I came here and participated in the consecration of the idols and inaugurated Dohkeshwar Dham at this holy place,” stated Sh. Shukla.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Ram Temple in Ayodhya and revival of Kashi Vishwanath temple. He said that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Uttar Pradesh was increasing due to the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Himachal is the land of gods and the people here should also make efforts to promote religious tourism besides increasing its economy,” said the Governor.
The Governor also expressed concern over the increasing drug addiction in the state and said that if we can save even one person from addiction, it would contribute in a big way in making our society a better place to live. He urged people to run a campaign for de-addiction in the villages and said that by doing so the prestige of Devbhoomi would further increase.
