Gram Sabha Meetings on January 22 to Create Awareness on Forest Rights Act

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Jubbal Gurmeet Negi, while issuing orders for public awareness in local Panchayats under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006, said that it is very important to disseminate information regarding the provisions related to individual and community forest rights under the Forest Rights Act, 2006 to the general public, so that eligible persons/families can submit their claims in a timely and legal manner.
He said that keeping this in mind, all the Patwaris, Kanungos and Naib Tehsildars working under the sub-division Jubbal have been instructed to ensure their presence in the Gram Panchayats on January 22, 2026. He said that through the general assembly meeting at the Gram Panchayat level, they should make people aware about the provisions of FRA, 2006, eligibility related to Individual Forest Rights (IFR) and Community Forest Rights (CFR), necessary documents and claim process, give clear information about the formation/activation and role of the Village Forest Rights Committee (FRC) and ensure that no eligible person is deprived of submitting a claim due to ignorance.
