Govt Promoting Modern Farming, Natural Agriculture: Vikramaditya Singh

Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the Himachal Pradesh Government is encouraging farmers to adopt modern farming techniques, grow cash crops, and shift towards natural farming for better income.
He was addressing a Block-Level Farmers’ Conference at Hashkardhar in Chanavag Panchayat of Shimla Rural on Tuesday.

He informed that 2.22 lakh farmers in the state have adopted natural farming, including 540 hectares covered under Shimla Rural. He added that over ₹5.50 crore has been spent to promote modern farming benefiting nearly 35,000 farmers.

The Minister also announced various development works, including ₹20 lakh for the school ground wall in Chanavag and financial support for road and community infrastructure.
More than ₹11 crore is being spent on drinking water projects to ensure adequate water supply in the region.

Cultural performances by school students were also presented at the event.
