Governor presides over meeting on TB eradication
2 min readUna, April 16 – While presiding over the meeting organized on TB eradication with the Una district administration, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that there was a need to involve maximum people in this campaign. He said that people should take inspiration from NikShay Mitra and come forward to help TB patients.
The Governor said that today serious work was being done towards eradication of TB in the world. He said that the President and the Prime Minister were themselves motivating people in this regard to make the campaign a big success in the country. He added that most of the people were aware about TB eradication but there was a need to take their contribution in this regard and the health department needs to go out in the fields for this purpose. He assured that Raj Bhavan would also help as NikShay Mitra to adopt TB patients.
He directed the officers to provide medicines to T.B. patients regularly and interact with the patients to get their feedback.
On the occasion, the Governor released the annual report of the Red Cross and presented a cheque of Rs 1.12 lakh to five winners of the Red Cross referral draw. He also awarded NikShay Mitra and T.B. champions. He also interacted with TB Champions and NikShay Mitra.
The Governor distributed Hygiene and nutrition kits to the patients.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma welcomed the Governor and briefed about TB programme being implemented at the district level.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Manju Behl also apprised the Governor about activities of Health department in TB eradication.
On the occasion, Dr. Atmika Nair, Consultant World Health Organization gave a presentation on TB program. A presentation on digital hand X-ray machine was also given by Divansh and Goldie from Rohit Jafa Ventures (India) Private Limited.
