Governor inaugurates Mega Eye Test Camp at Una
2 min readUna, April 15 – While inaugurating Mega Eye Test Camp organized by ‘Prayas’ organization under “Jan Swasthya ke 5 saal-Har Ghar Dwar Asptal” at DAV Centenary Public School Una, today. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the better results of the efforts made in preventive health & care were coming in front of the country.
He lauded the initiatives of Union Minister, Anurag Thakur for successfully running the “Asptal-sansad Swasthya Sewa” for the last five years and added that through this service, the residents of the State were getting the benefit of free primary health check-up. “Their efforts are contributing in realizing the dream of the Prime Minister of “Swasth Bharat”. he said.
Shri Shukla said that no one had ever thought that our dependence on foreign countries for medicines, vaccines, medical devices etc. would end. However, today the Corona vaccine made in India not only helped in saving the precious lives of the countrymen, but also set an example in the world by making it available to other countries, he added.
He said that good and modern health infrastructure was being developed in the country. Critical health infra was also being taken to smaller cities and towns under the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. He said that the better results of the efforts made in the past years for preventive health & care were coming to the fore.
On the occasion, the Governor also distributed spectacles to the people who came for eye check-up. He also visited the camp side and interacted with eye patients.
On the occasion, the Union Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Information and Broadcasting Shri Anurag Thakur welcomed the Governor. He said that Prayas Sanstha has made this effort regarding medical facilities so that people could get the facility of health check-up at their door steps. He said that in the year 2018, with the cooperation of the people, “Asptal-Sansad Mobile Swasthya Sewa” was started in Hamirpur parliamentary constituency with three medical units and today about 33 ambulance services were working in 8 districts of the State. He said that efforts would be made to benefit people by organizing such camps in future also.
On the occasion, MLA Satpal Singh Satti welcomed the Governor.
Former Minister, Virendra Kanwar, Former MLAs, Kamal Chugh, Head of Government Business, Puran Saini from Hans Foundation, Dr. S.P. Singh, Director, Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, specialist doctors from various hospitals of the country and other prominent people of the district were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma, Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen and former Minister Virendra Kanwar welcomed him on reaching Government Model Senior Secondary School Saroh Ground this morning.
