Governor and CM to inaugurate Sadbhavna Cricket Cup Tournament on 7th and 8th December

A preliminary meeting for organizing the Sadbhavna Cricket Cup, being organised by Him Sports and Cultural Association (HSCA) was held here today in which Naresh Chauhan, Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister and the President of HSCA, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, representative of Governor XI MLA Hans Raj and General Secretary of the Association, Hardyal Bhardwaj were present. The tournament will be played on 7th and 8th December at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate the tournament on 7the December at 9.30 AM.

Being played on the Theme ‘Nasha Chodo, Khel Khelo’ the first match will be played between Governor XI and Press XI at 1.30 PM on 7th December 2024.

The 2nd match will be played on 8th December between Chief Minister (CM) XI and Chief Justice (CJ) XI at 9.30 AM to be inaugurated by acting Chief Justice HP High Court, Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, who will also be the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The final will be played on the same day .i.e. 8th December at 2 PM to be inaugurated by Speaker HP Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Singh Pathania.

Sh. Naresh Chauhan said that the Chief Minister would be the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony and would distribute the prizes to the participating teams and the winners of the tournament. Sh. Chauhan said that sports teach us to respect our opponents, teammates and officials and to admire their skills and achievements and we should follow the same in our day to day life as well.

Kewal Singh Pathania who is looking after the preparations of CM XI team stated that such friendly matches inculcate spirit of camaraderie. He said that sports teach us to play fairly, win graciously and lose with dignity. The Sadbhavna Cup carries the same message, he stated.

He appealed players from all teams to be present for practice matches as well.
