Global Aerospace Expert Addresses JUIT on Advanced Composites & Space Technologies

Waknaghat, Mar 02 , 2026:The Department of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with the International Collaboration Center at Jaypee University of Information Technology, hosted a one-day International Expert Lecture on Aerospace Systems, Launch Vehicles, Spacecraft Technologies, and Advanced Composite Materials.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Changduk Kong, Distinguished Chair Professor at Kunsan National University, Republic of Korea. He traced the evolution of aerospace engineering, detailing developments in aircraft structures, launch vehicles, spacecraft systems, and modern aviation platforms. Emphasizing the role of advanced composite materials, Prof. Kong explained how their superior strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and fatigue durability are reshaping aerospace and orbital system design. Recognized as one of Korea’s leading experts in composite structures, he has also served as a visiting professor at several Indian institutions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Sharma noted that such academic engagements strengthen Indo–Korean technological collaboration. Dean (Research & Internationalization) Prof. Sudhir Syal underscored the importance of sustained global partnerships for impactful research, while Head of Civil Engineering Prof. Ashish Kumar highlighted the growing cross-sectoral relevance of advanced composites. Programme Coordinator Dr. Tanmay Gupta stated that interactions with global experts enhance JUIT’s research culture and interdisciplinary outlook.
The session concluded with discussions on potential collaborative research initiatives, further reinforcing JUIT’s commitment to international academic excellence.
