1 min read

In a major fraud case, Dalip Singh Negi, the prime accused in a Forest Department job scam, used the money he cheated to buy a car. Over Rs. 22.5 lakh has been recovered from his bank account. Negi impersonated a district magistrate to deceive six young people by claiming connections with high-ranking officials and promising them jobs. The case originated in New Shimla, with victims like Nishant and Ritik from Rohru reporting the scam on May 14, 2024. Along with accomplice Ritesh, Negi created fake documents and joining letters with the Forest Department logo, extorting large sums through Google Pay. Negi’s sixth bail plea was recently denied by the district court, keeping him in judicial custody for six months.
