2 min readUna: The Foundation Stone of the 32 MW (45 MWp) Pekhubella Solar Power Project will be laid by Sh. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh on 2nd December 2023 at Pekhubella. This is a step forward in making Himachal Pradesh the first green energy State by March, 2026; the target set by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh.
The work for the construction of the Pekhubella Solar Project was awarded on 19th May, 2023. A total of 59 hectares of land is being used for the construction of this project. A total number of 82,656 solar modules will be installed for the project. The generated power will be evacuated through a 132 kV double circuit LiLo of Rakkar-Tahliwalline having a length of 1.88 Km. This project will generate 66.10 million units of electricity in a year This project will help in reducing 2532 tonnes of Carbon emission in a year and will generate employment at the local level.
Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has been assigned a target of 500 MW Solar Power installation in two years by Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. The target of 200 MW will be installed in this financial year and the balance of 300 MW in the financial year 2024-25. The land has been identified and the process of transfer and formulation of DPRs is underway in a phased manner. The financing for the 200 MW has been arranged from the World Bank and the loan agreement has been signed on 6th November,2023. The tenders for the further capacity of 40 MW are in the final awarding stage has been finalized and around 100 MW Solar Power Projects are under the preparation stage.
