Former NPS Employee Federation VP Nityanand Shadkat Joins Congress, Citing Pro-Employee Policies

Nityanand Shadkat, the former chief spokesperson and vice president of the New Pension Scheme Employee Federation of Himachal Pradesh, along with his supporters, officially joined the Congress party today at the Congress headquarters in Shimla. The induction was attended by the Honorable Education Minister and Shimla Lok Sabha constituency in-charge, Rohit Thakur, and the Honorable Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Working President of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, Sanjay Awasthi, who also chairs the War Room at the Congress headquarters. Senior spokesperson SS Jogta, a former employee leader, was also present.

Shadkat expressed his confidence in the Congress party’s policies and programs, highlighting the Congress government’s consistent efforts to support employee interests. He specifically praised Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for reinstating the old pension scheme, calling it a historic decision that sets a significant precedent in the country. In contrast, Shadkat criticized the Modi government for its refusal to reinstate the old pension scheme, which has left employees across the nation and the state determined to teach the BJP a lesson in the upcoming elections. He confidently stated that Congress is poised for victory.
