Dharamshala: Former MLA and rebel Congress leader Sudhir Sharma has sent a defamation notice to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu from the Dharamshala constituency. The notice claims defamation of ₹5 crores and demands an additional payment of ₹55,000 for legal action. This comes after Chief Minister Sukhu stated in a public meeting in the Kutlehar assembly constituency of Una district on Friday that rebel Congress MLAs were sold for ₹15-15 crores each. He also claimed to have proof of the same. He had said that the time has come to teach a lesson to those who sell your emotions and auction their legislators.
After sending the notice, Sudhir Sharma said in a media statement that the Chief Minister’s statement of being sold for ₹15-15 crores is hilarious. He questioned the authenticity of the Chief Minister’s claims and demanded that if he had evidence, it should be presented to the public. He remarked that the Chief Minister was making such statements in panic. He emphasized that the Chief Minister will have to answer in court. Making such statements does not suit him as the head of the Youth Congress. Now he has reached the Chief Minister’s chair.
