Shimla, 18th July 2024 — Former State President and MP Suresh Kashyap has commended the Haryana government’s decision to provide 10% reservation for former Agniveers in direct recruitment for positions such as police constable, mining guard, forest guard, jail warden, and SPO. Kashyap urged the Himachal Pradesh government to implement similar measures.

Highlighting the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling its promises, Kashyap pointed out that Haryana has also decided to grant a three-year age relaxation for former Agniveers applying for Group D and C positions, with the first batch receiving a five-year relaxation. Additionally, there will be a 5% reservation for Agniveers in direct recruitment for Group C civil positions and a 1% reservation in Group D.

Kashyap noted that industrial units offering Agniveers a monthly salary of over Rs. 30,000 would receive an annual subsidy of Rs. 60,000 from the Haryana government. Agniveers wishing to start their own businesses after four years of service will be eligible for interest-free loans up to Rs. 5 lakh.

Kashyap urged the Himachal Pradesh government to adopt similar policies, emphasizing the significance of the Agniveer scheme in strengthening young India. He mentioned that the central government has already decided to provide 10% reservation for former Agniveers in the CISF and BSF, along with age relaxations.
