Foreign Tourists Embark on an Adventurous Auto Expedition to Shimla

Shimla, September 9, 2023 – The enchanting queen of the hills, Shimla, is witnessing a surge in tourist arrivals. Visitors from various parts of the country, as well as foreign tourists, have begun to explore this picturesque destination.

This Friday, foreign tourists arriving in Shimla created quite a spectacle as they opted for an unconventional mode of transport – autorickshaws or “autos” instead of the typical buses or cars. These tourists have a unique purpose for their visit, as autorickshaws are not a common means of transportation within the city. Consequently, they have become a center of attraction for locals and other tourists alike.

Journey from Jaisalmer to Leh via Auto Rickshaw

Just four days ago, these adventurous travelers arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi from the United States. From there, they embarked on a journey by bus to Rajasthan. Upon reaching Jaisalmer, they hired autorickshaws to travel to Leh. The purpose of their visit to Leh is to participate in a thrilling auto-racing event. For this, they have traversed through Himachal Pradesh. Notably, around 25 teams from different countries have converged in Himachal Pradesh to participate in the race.

The autorickshaws these tourists are using have a petrol tank with a capacity of 10 liters, allowing them to cover approximately 180 kilometers on a full tank.

Professional Racers with Hollywood Connections

Quinton and Minch, the travelers, are professional racers who are no strangers to the world of motorsports. They have previously worked on Hollywood film productions and even featured in a Bollywood movie shot in Dubai. Quinton carries with him a vintage camera dating back to 1959, which he plans to use to document their unique journey.

Safety and Scenic Beauty in Himachal Pradesh

These foreign tourists from the United States vouched for the safety of traveling through the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. They encountered no major issues during their journey, despite occasional landslides along the way. The local administration is diligently working to ensure smooth travel. With soaring temperatures in many parts of the country, the pleasant weather in the mountains makes Himachal Pradesh an attractive destination for travelers seeking natural beauty and adventure.
