Solna, February 6: A foreign student, Steven Ansumana from Sierra Leone, residing in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district at Bahra University Waknaghat, has been arrested for violating The Foreigners Act. The 30-year-old student pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) course at Bahra University is a resident of Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The Deputy Registrar of the university informed Kandaghat Police that Steven Ansumana enrolled in the BCA course during the academic session 2021-22, scheduled to complete in the year 2024. He arrived at Bahra University in September 2021 with a valid visa expiring on January 15, 2024. Recently, he was instructed to renew his visa and passport before the expiration date. Since January 15, he has been residing in India without a valid visa. Following this information, the police registered a case, and during the investigation, Steven Ansumana, son of Shar Anusumana, a resident of Freetown, Sierra Leone, was apprehended from Khad, Punjab.
