Folk Dance Competition to be Organized During Kullu Dussehra 2025

Kullu, September 9, 2025: District Language Officer Kullu, Promila Guleria, informed that during the upcoming Kullu Dussehra Festival 2025, a folk dance competition will be organized daily at Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra. The event will feature local folk dance troupes from across the district and will begin at 10 AM each day.
As per the guidelines, each troupe can have a maximum of 22 participants, including singers, musicians, and dancers. The performance duration will be restricted to 10–12 minutes, showcasing only traditional dances, songs, and music. Participating groups must perform folk art forms native to their region, using only traditional instruments. Costumes and ornaments of dancers, singers, and musicians must also be authentic and traditional. The jury’s decision will be final and binding.
The first, second, and third position holders will be awarded cash prizes and trophies by the Kullu Dussehra Committee.
Interested troupes from Kullu district must register by September 25, 2025, at the District Language Officer’s office, Dev Sadan Bhawan, Dhalpur, Kullu. For further details, participants can contact the office at 01902-222406.
