Floral Tributes Paid to Lala Lajpat Rai on His Death Anniversary in Shimla

Shimla, 17 November 2024: Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation, Surender Chauhan, led a tribute event commemorating the death anniversary of freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. As the chief guest, Chauhan emphasized Lala Lajpat Rai’s unparalleled bravery during India’s struggle for freedom, recalling his title “Sher-e-Punjab” and the sacrifices he made, including succumbing to injuries inflicted by British police batons. Floral tributes were offered at the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial at Scandal Point, with participation from notable dignitaries.

The event featured patriotic songs performed by artists from the Information and Public Relations Department. Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, councilors, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, Municipal Commissioner Bhupendra Atri, and other officials were present.
