Bilaspur, September 28: A five-year-old child was injured when a gun accidentally discharged in the village of Haritalyanagar (Johadi), under the jurisdiction of Bharadi police station. The child’s condition is critical, and a case has been registered under the IPC. During the incident, the child’s grandfather was also present.

During the investigation, six cartridges, one firearm, 22 detonators, gunpowder, and half a bottle of liquor were recovered from the scene. The police have intensified their investigation into the matter. It is surprising that no one informed the police about the incident, and the child was taken to Shimla in critical condition, where doctors reported the case to the police. This has raised several questions.

On the other hand, Rakesh, who runs a dhaba on the Shimla-Mataur National Highway, stated in his police statement that he operates a rented shop.

The incident occurred around 10:30 PM on Wednesday when the house owner, Kamal, came with his five-year-old grandson. The grandfather and grandson went to the room adjacent to the dhaba. Within moments, a gunshot was heard from inside the room. When Kamal entered the room, the gun was lying on the floor, and the child had been injured.

Moreover, the recovery of a substantial amount of ammunition and explosives from the room has raised many questions. A 36-foot rope was also found in the room, which is used for explosive purposes, and its possession is illegal.

The house where the shooting incident occurred is located approximately 100 meters away from Kamal’s residence. The presence of bloodstains was also found in another house nearby. DSP Ghumarwin Chanderpal stated that the dhaba owner’s statement has been recorded, and an IGMC team has been sent for investigation. A detailed and thorough investigation into all aspects of the incident is underway.
