First Flying Officer from Nanao, Palampur: Pratham Parmar Honored

Dharamshala, 22 December 2024: Pratham Parmar, a resident of Nanao village in Palampur, was honored by his family and the entire village for becoming the first Flying Officer from the region. The celebration began with Pratham and his family visiting their ancestral deities Akshaina Mahadev, Sachiayat Mata, and Sheetla Mata for blessings.

Upon arrival in the village, Pratham was welcomed with garlands and blessings by elders, including his grandfather Subedar Rai Singh, Urmila Devi, Principal Sarvjeet Singh, and Bhupinder Singh. A grand reception was held at the community center, where villagers showered flowers and extended their heartfelt congratulations.

Prominent attendees included local MLA Vipin Parmar, Bharmour MLA Dr. Janak Raj, former Dehra MLA Hoshiyar Singh and his wife Punita Chambial, and Captain Sanjay Parashar, CEO of Marine India Ltd. The event also featured a melodious performance by the Mahakali Group from Mandi during the Mata ki Chowki.

Pratham’s achievement is a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh. He is the fifth generation of his family serving the armed forces, with a lineage of distinguished military service dating back to his great-grandfather, Captain Dayal Singh Parmar.
