Fire Engulfs Three-Storey House in Hali Village, Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, December 20: A devastating fire broke out in a three-and-a-half-storey wooden house in the village of Shalan near Nerwa, situated approximately 30 kilometers away. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 5 PM, reducing the structure to ashes. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties.

The house, located in the Bangewali area, was completely destroyed due to being constructed primarily of wood. Mohan Akta (45), who works as a Junior Basic Training (JBT) teacher in the Education Department, had recently shifted to this new residence along with his family. The fire engulfed 18 to 20 rooms in the house.

While there were no reported injuries or loss of life, the belongings inside the house turned into ashes due to the intense flames. The preliminary estimate of the damage caused by the fire is around INR 80 lakhs. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
