Dharamshala, 16th October: In Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) has apprehended a female Patwari (revenue officer) for accepting a bribe. According to the available information, Aruna Kumari, who was posted as a Patwari in the Branda circle of Nurpur Tehsil, was caught red-handed taking a bribe of two thousand rupees from the complainant Pushpendra Singh, a resident of Kangra district.

Pushpendra Singh alleged that Aruna Kumari demanded a bribe to issue a land demarcation report for his family’s land. The vigilance bureau initiated an investigation based on this complaint and invoked Section 7 of the Himachal Pradesh (Prevention of Corruption) Amendment Act, 2018, against the female Patwari. Aruna Kumari has been taken into custody.

It’s noteworthy that this comes just three days after another Patwari in Una district was apprehended for accepting a bribe of five thousand rupees.
