Fear of Third Consecutive Defeat Makes BJP Leaders Nervous

2 min read

Shimla, June 29: With the specter of a third consecutive electoral defeat looming large in the state, jittery BJP leaders have resorted to unbecoming and desperate statements. Harikrishna Himral, the Deputy Chief of Himachal Pradesh Congress, criticized the BJP’s recent statements, pointing out their anxiety and disillusionment over their waning electoral prospects.

Himral highlighted that BJP leaders are visibly shaken by their recent losses in three assembly constituencies, prompting them to make derogatory political remarks, including personal attacks against the Chief Minister and his family. He emphasized that such tactics not only reflect a defeatist attitude but also betray a lack of ethical conduct expected in electoral battles.

The Congress leader noted a growing realization among the BJP ranks that orchestrating conspiracies and indulging in subversion cannot easily dismantle a democratic government. He pointed out that BJP’s popularity in the state has plummeted due to such actions, causing their leaders to lose their mental equilibrium and resort to inflammatory rhetoric.

Regarding the upcoming assembly session where Congress is set to have more than 40 members, Himral warned that making frivolous remarks about the potential fall of the government only turns BJP leaders into objects of ridicule among the public. He stressed that the people of Himachal Pradesh now perceive any statements from BJP leaders with skepticism, as the true face of the BJP has been unmasked.

Reflecting on the corruption scandals during the previous BJP government in the state, Himral cited Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s efforts in holding accountable those responsible for corruption and leaks during his tenure. He dismissed BJP’s credibility in raising corruption issues from the opposition benches, stating that the public is well aware of the realities of their past governance.
