Shimla, August 11: A clash has emerged between the only Cabinet Minister from Kangra, Chandra Kumar, and his son Neeraj Bharti, a former CPS (Chief Parliamentary Secretary), in the Congress-led Sukhwindra Singh Sukkhu government. The political statements exchanged between the father and son have unveiled rifts within the Congress, exposing the claims of unity.

The renowned Congress leader and former CPS, Neeraj Bharti, had advised his father, Cabinet Minister Chandra Kumar, to focus on working in his district a day prior. However, this advice didn’t sit well with Chandra Kumar, who retorted the next day, stating that when a father’s shoe starts fitting his son, he shouldn’t give him advice anymore. The political verbal sparring between the father and son has garnered considerable attention.

In response to the comment made by Neeraj Bharti, Cabinet Minister Chandra Kumar mentioned that no legislator holds a special position as the Chief Minister (CM). All legislators are equally important to the Chief Minister. The government works with priority and administration changes take time. Chandra Kumar refrained from making any further comments, acknowledging that people are already familiar with the situation. He expressed his unwillingness to comment on the matter. Chandra Kumar mentioned that when a father’s shoe fits his son, he shouldn’t offer any advice.

Notably, Cabinet Minister Chandra Kumar had recently criticized Congress legislators Rajendra Rana and Sudhir Sharma on social media in Shimla. Chandra Kumar had criticized their comments and demanded that the party leadership address such statements. Neeraj Bharti, his son, responded on social media by criticizing his own government.

Neeraj Bharti’s social media posts openly criticized his father, Cabinet Minister Chandra Kumar. He advised his father to focus on his district. Neeraj Bharti, a Congress legislator from Jwali, had been a CPS during the Virbhadra Singh government. He was created a CPS during the previous BJP government. Neeraj Bharti is known for his sharp statements. He has been implicated in a defamation case related to an anonymous letter against a former BJP minister.

He allegedly shared the anonymous letter from his Facebook account, which subsequently went viral on the internet. In 2021, a case was filed against Neeraj Bharti at the Shimla Cyber Police Station. The CID (Criminal Investigation Department) had also filed a case against him in a previous incident.
