Faculty Upgraded with Latest IoT & AI Skills at Hamirpur FDP

A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Introduction to IoT and AI” concluded at Government Polytechnic College, Badu, Hamirpur. The programme aimed to equip educators from engineering colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs with cutting-edge skills in Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Organised jointly by the Electronics and ICT Academy (CDAC Mohali), Government Polytechnic College Hamirpur, and sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, the FDP aligned with the goals of the National Education Policy 2020.
The event featured technical sessions and hands-on training led by experts including Dr. Balwinder Singh (CDAC Mohali), Dr. T.P. Sharma, Dr. Rajeev Kumar, and Dr. Pradeep Singh (NIT Hamirpur), Anju Krishna (CDAC), and others. Topics covered included microcontrollers, embedded systems, sensors, actuators, Python programming, machine learning fundamentals, NLP, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, cloud integration, and real-time applications using Node-RED, MQTT, and ThingSpeak.
Participants also created IoT-based mini projects as part of their learning. On the closing day, Dr. Ashwani Kumar Rana, Head of ECE at NIT Hamirpur, encouraged faculty to engage in innovation, patenting, and start-up initiatives.
Principal Chander Shekhar extended gratitude to all resource persons and participants and assured continued efforts to organize similar high-level programmes.
