Exit Polls Created by BJP to Mislead: Kuldeep Singh Rathore

2 min read

Shimla, June 3. Kuldeep Singh Rathore, spokesperson of the All India Congress Committee and MLA from Theog, has questioned the credibility of the exit polls, stating that they are completely contrary to the facts and were created in the BJP office to be distributed to the media. He claimed that these polls lack any scientific basis and are an attempt by the BJP to create a sensation in the country and exert pressure on election officials.

Addressing a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan, Rathore remarked that the slogan of “crossing 400 seats” by the Prime Minister, heavily promoted in the media, is now being falsely validated through exit polls. He pointed out that there has been no enthusiasm for the BJP anywhere in the country, as they have failed to address issues like unemployment and rising inflation. Instead, they have made baseless statements to create confusion and attempted communal polarization.

Rathore demanded transparency from the companies conducting these exit polls, questioning the basis of these polls, the timing, location, and the sample size of people surveyed. He highlighted numerous discrepancies in the exit polls and asserted that creating a sensation through exit polls is inappropriate in a democracy. Rathore confidently predicted that the election results will favor the INDIA alliance.

He affirmed that the Congress is fully committed to safeguarding the country’s democracy and constitution. Rathore criticized the BJP for undermining democracy and disregarding the constitution, calling it unfortunate. He accused the BJP of targeting opposition leaders with corruption charges to intimidate and coerce them, only to absolve them later once they align with the BJP.

Rathore reiterated that the election results will contradict the exit polls and will be in favor of the INDIA alliance, which will become clear once the EVMs are opened.

Rathore also expressed concern over the recent forest fires during the summer season, urging forest department officials to take strict measures to control these fires. He highlighted the significant damage to natural resources and the environment caused by these fires.

In a phone conversation with Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Rathore conveyed his concerns. He emphasized the need to provide adequate compensation to orchard owners whose orchards were destroyed and to those whose homes were affected by the fires. Rathore also called for ensuring water supply through tankers in areas facing water scarcity.

The Chief Minister assured Rathore that he would hold a meeting with the concerned officials today to discuss and address these issues.
