New Dawn with New Hopes, Free from Fear and Hatred: A Fresh Start
Shimla, June 3, 2024.
Congress Working President of Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Awasthi, has raised questions about the media exit polls. He stated that the exit polls are a premeditated conspiracy by the BJP, designed to create a favorable atmosphere for them before the actual election results are announced. Awasthi emphasized that these exit polls should be ignored, and the focus should be on the real outcome. He remarked that the exit polls aired on Saturday are far from reality.
Awasthi further asserted that the talk of BJP crossing the 300-seat mark is a myth, and they won’t even reach half that number. The false propaganda of exit polls is deliberately created to influence the officials and employees counting the votes, making them believe that “BJP is already winning” so that they might favor the BJP.
He expressed concerns that these exit polls are being used to create an environment where it appears that “BJP is winning” to manipulate the results in their favor, while in reality, they are losing badly. Hence, he sent a clear message that the popular mandate should not be compromised regardless of how many exit polls the BJP sponsors. He suggested that the BJP should start planning their exit as the countdown has begun, with less than 24 hours remaining for their final exit.
Awasthi stated that they have witnessed the public mood at the grassroots level. They have reached out to every voter across the country and are aware of the nation’s sentiment. The nation’s mood is entirely against the BJP government due to widespread unemployment, the highest in 45 years affecting 70 crore unemployed youth, and back-breaking inflation, where common people cannot even afford two meals a day. The public sentiment is also against the hatred spread across the country, where brother is pitted against brother. With less than 24 hours remaining, the current government will finally be shown the exit.
He appealed to every official on counting duty to perform their tasks without fear or favoritism. There is no need for anyone to worry, not even the Home Minister, whose time is already over. Within the next 24 hours, he will no longer be the Home Minister.
Awasthi warned that everyone must do their work impartially because everyone is watching. Every person will be held accountable. The people’s mandate cannot be distorted or destroyed. Their workers are already on the job, vigilant, ensuring that no one will influence the final result. Let the counting of the last vote happen, and we will see whose exit it will be. He concluded by saying that tomorrow we will witness a new dawn, free from fear and hatred, promising a new day of hope.
