England’s Cricket Team Seeks Improvement in Dharamshala After 10 Years
1 min readEngland’s cricket team will be searching for a victory in Dharamshala after a decade when they face Bangladesh in their second match on Tuesday. England’s performance in Dharamshala has not been particularly impressive, as they hold the record for posting the lowest score in all six matches played there to date.
The first One-Day International (ODI) match in Dharamshala was played between India and England on January 27, 2013. In that match, England was defeated by 127 runs by India. During the match, India had set a target of 285 runs for England to chase in 50 overs.
From the Indian side, Suresh Raina (55) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (72) contributed runs, while Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten with 61 runs. Meanwhile, attempting to chase the score, England’s entire team was bowled out for 158 runs in just 36 overs.
In 2013, two players from the England team that played in Dharamshala then, Joe Root and Chris Woakes, are also part of the team this time. Although several other England players have participated in IPL matches held in Dharamshala.
On the other hand, Bangladesh’s team started their campaign in Dharamshala with a victory in their first ODI match. Additionally, Bangladesh has played three T20 matches in Dharamshala, winning two of them, with one match getting canceled due to rain.
