On the last day of election campaigning, the Congress Party demonstrated its strength by organizing massive rallies in Haripur, Khabli, and Dhaliara within the Dehra Assembly constituency. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu participated in these events. Sukhu emphasized that the Dehra election is a battle for the dignity of Dehra and urged voters to elect Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur, promising that they would not only get a legislator but also a Chief Minister.

He announced that the next state-level Independence Day program will be held in Dehra, and the issues of Pong Dam displaced persons will be resolved before this event. Sukhu criticized former MLA Hoshiar Singh for not addressing Dehra’s problems during his tenure and accused him of conspiring with the BJP to topple an elected government.

Sukhu condemned Hoshiar Singh’s alleged misuse of public funds for personal benefits, such as building roads to his five-star resort while neglecting the local infrastructure. He asserted that the people of Dehra are tired of such politics and will choose development over deception. Sukhu highlighted the achievements of the Congress government, including economic improvements and social welfare programs, despite inheriting a substantial debt from the previous administration.

During the rallies, several local leaders, including village heads and ward members, switched allegiance from the BJP to Congress, citing their belief in Sukhu’s leadership and the party’s commitment to resolving Dehra’s issues.
