Education Minister Lays Foundation for New School Buildings in Dharampur-Madhan

In a significant development for the education sector in the Dharampur-Madhan region, the Education Minister, Rohit Thakur, laid the foundation for the construction of a Ra.Va.Ma.Pa. (Rural, Vocational, and Madhyamik Paathshala) in Dharampur Madhan, along with two primary schools in Dharampur Madhan and Bhogda, each estimated at 45 lakhs. Local legislator Kuldeep Rathore and Deputy Chairman of the Forest Development Corporation, Kehar Singh Khachi, were present at the ceremony.
The Education Minister also participated in the annual scholarship distribution event for the schools and cultural programs organized by women’s groups. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing quality education at the primary level and highlighted ongoing efforts to improve educational facilities in the state.
Thakur stated that the state government is working towards enhancing the educational infrastructure and employment opportunities for students. He revealed that the foundation stones for three new school buildings were laid in the region, and their construction would be completed before the upcoming panchayat elections.
Highlighting the government’s efforts, Thakur mentioned the filling of vacant teaching positions in colleges and schools across the state. He informed that a substantial number of vacant positions for assistant professors had been filled, and the recruitment process for various teaching positions, including JBT, TGT, medical, and non-medical teachers, was underway. The minister also shared plans to fill 585 lecturer positions in school cadre.
Thakur acknowledged the support of local leaders and politicians, including senior Congress leader Madam Vidya Stokes, in the development of the Dharampur-Madhan constituency. He assured the audience that the government is actively addressing the challenges faced by the people, including the recent damages caused by heavy rainfall in the Shimla district.
Additionally, the minister announced financial support for various initiatives, including the construction of the Langar Hall at the Jodeshwar Mahadev Temple, the purchase of musical instruments for Dharampur School, and funding for cultural costumes for school girls.
In his address, local legislator Kuldeep Rathore expressed gratitude for the support received during the elections and emphasized that the development of the region is a priority for the Congress party. He assured that comprehensive visits to all panchayats in the constituency would be conducted to address local issues.
Deputy Chairman of the Forest Development Corporation, Kehar Singh Khachi, highlighted the developmental projects planned for the region, including a collaborative project with the Forest Development Corporation to generate employment opportunities in Kyaratu, Madhana, Majharana, and Kelvi panchayat areas.
The ceremony also included the reading of the annual report by the school principal, Amichand Kimta, detailing the school’s achievements and challenges. Thakur concluded the event by appreciating the efforts of meritorious students and announcing financial rewards for their academic excellence.
This event marks a significant step towards improving educational infrastructure and fostering holistic development in the Dharampur-Madhan region.
