Education Minister Inaugurates ₹1.28 Crore Lift Drinking Water Scheme in Parali Badrooni

Shimla, August 10, 2025 — Education Minister Rohit Thakur today inaugurated the Slog Nala to Kufarbaug lift drinking water scheme in Gram Panchayat Parali Badrooni, built at a cost of ₹1.28 crore. The scheme will benefit nearly 1,000 residents across five villages.

Addressing a public gathering, Thakur highlighted an ambitious ₹38 crore project underway to supply lift drinking water from the Pabbar River to all 27 panchayats in the Jubbal-Nawar-Kotkhai constituency, ensuring relief from summer water shortages. On the occasion, he also planted saplings, promoting environmental conservation.

Earlier, in Riogh village of Devari Khaneti Panchayat, Thakur announced ₹26 crore for the upgradation of the Pudag–Rioghati road, a key link between Kotkhai and Nawar. He noted that ₹400 crore is being spent on road construction across the constituency, with significant works including the ₹2.92 crore Alawag–Naxetli–Rioghati via Kangi Nala road and the ₹25 lakh building project for the Government Senior Secondary School, Devari Khaneti.

Thakur also informed that 10 new primary health centre buildings are under construction in the constituency, including the ₹1.82 crore PHC at Devari Khaneti. He announced ₹5 lakh for the construction of the Devi Nandan temple in Khaneti.
