Shimla, October 9: After the budget announcement from the central government, the Education Department has released the pending honorarium for Mid-Day Meal workers. The Directorate of Elementary Education has allocated 42 crores for honorarium payment.

The Directorate has issued instructions to all district education officers to promptly disburse the pending honorarium to Mid-Day Meal workers.

Furthermore, all Block Elementary Education Officers have been directed to release the honorarium to Mid-Day Meal workers, amounting to 4,000 rupees per month, through e-transfer into their bank accounts. Additionally, instructions have been issued to release the honorarium for the upcoming month before the 7th of the month.

It’s worth noting that government school Mid-Day Meal workers in the state had not received their honorarium for the past six months, which led to protests and agitation. However, with the recent budget allocation by the central government for Mid-Day Meals, the honorarium payment issue has been resolved.
