CM congratulates IT department for CSI SIG e-Governance Award

Shimla, April 18 – Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated the Information Technology Department for winning 2nd award as the ‘Progressive State in Digital Innovations applications’ by the Computer Society of India-Special Interest Group (CSI-SIG) in the country. The award was presented by CSI SIG at Delhi Technological University, New Delhi recently.

The Chief Minister appreciated the IT Department for doing commendable work and reiterated the commitment of the State Government to take forward the vision of Late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi about ‘Digital India’.  He said that the State Government had launched various online programs to bring transparency and efficiency in the entire process of government.

Sh. Sukhu said that soon e-office would be utilised across the HP Secretariat, Directorates and Deputy Commissioner Offices to bring efficiency in Government work. ‘Mukhya Mantri Seva Sankalp Helpline’ would be strengthened, enabling citizens to register their complaints, he said and adding that an “Integrated Data Base Management System” integrating the databases of various departments would also be created and DBT mapping of different welfare schemes of departments such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Labour and Employment etc. would be done through this system. To have relevant data of the families on a single platform, a registry named “Him Parivar” would be created, said the Chief Minister. Information related to family members would be integrated in this registry through data of PDS, e-Kalyan and other portals, he added.

Secretary, IT, Dr. Abhishek Jain informed that the department has been taking major initiatives to improve service delivery in the Government, e-Governance and Digital Infrastructure. The award has been given to recognize and appreciate the successful efforts by the Department of IT in achieving good governance, and providing various G2C (Govt. to Citizens) & G2B (Govt to Business) services in the field of e-Governance. The department is currently successfully running the IT initiatives such as- GARUD(Governance & Reforms using Drones), Himachal Online Seva, Mukhya Mantri Seva Sankalp Helpline 1100, e-Office, DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), HIMSWAN (Himachal Pradesh State Wide Area Network), HPSDC (Himachal Pradesh State Data Centre), e-Cabinet, LMS (Litigation Monitoring System), RMS(Revenue Management System).
