Durrant House Lifts Proficiency Cup at Auckland House Boys’ Sports Day 2025

The Senior Section Annual Sports Day of Auckland House School for Boys was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm on 24th May 2025. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Vivek Bhatia, IAS, Special Secretary-cum-Principal Private Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
The event began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour, followed by an impressive March Past by the four houses — Durrant House, Lefroy House, French House, and Matthew House. A vibrant showcase of physical training drills including Dumbbell P.T., Yoga, P.T., Taekwondo, Stick P.T., and Gymnastics kept the audience engaged.
The energy continued with exciting races and games such as the Skipping Race, Basketball Trail, Flat Race, Baton Relay, Ball Relay, Skating Race, Musical Chair, and the ever-popular Tug of War. Special events like the Teachers vs Students and Ladies vs Gentlemen races saw enthusiastic participation from faculty and parents alike.
In his address, Chief Guest Vivek Bhatia encouraged students to make sports an integral part of life, emphasizing physical fitness, discipline, and holistic development.
Principal Mr. John remarked, “It’s not just about winning but about participation and the spirit of teamwork that truly counts.” He commended all participants and teachers for their hard work and dedication in making the event a grand success.
The day concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony to honour outstanding achievements:

- Best Taekwondo Performer: Kshonish
- Best Gymnast: Shashwat Thakur
- Best Athlete: Samarth Sawant
