Drug smugglers arrested under NDPS Act by Shimla police

Shimla, Dec 26 – Shimla police have beefed up vigil on the narcotics trade during Christmas and New year parties in this tourist resort as it nabbed two drug traffickers and recovered contraband Charas and Chitta from them.
One person has been arrested with 287.62 gms Charas under police station Sadar as police searched him on suspicion of carrying drugs Monday.
The accused was identified as Vivek Malta S/o Srichand R/O Mohri, Uttarakhand. He was booked under section 20 ND&PS Act.
Beside this, Shimla Police have recovered 9.84 gms Chitta or Heroin from the possession of one person namely Mukul S/o Jia Lal R/o Rohru, Shimla. The accused was booked under section 21 ND&PS Act which has been registered at PS Sadar. Further investigation is underway.
