Shimla, Feb 21, 2025: Dr. Rajeev Bindal, BJP’s state president, launched a sharp attack on Congress and Rahul Gandhi after US President Donald Trump’s statement about using US aid to influence India’s elections. Dr. Bindal condemned Congress’ actions, calling them shameful and anti-national, affirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim that foreign powers were attempting to block his rise to power.
Dr. Bindal accused Congress of conspiring and using foreign funds to influence India’s democratic process. He cited Rahul Gandhi’s demand for foreign intervention in India’s democracy and Trump’s confirmation of funding for increasing voter turnout in India’s elections. Dr. Bindal expressed regret that such foreign interference was being encouraged by Congress.
Trump’s comments on the $21 million fund, used by the previous US government to boost voter turnout in India, further confirmed Dr. Bindal’s allegations. He pointed out how Congress’ continuous criticism of India’s democracy was now validated by Trump’s remarks.
Dr. Bindal concluded by asserting that India’s democracy is growing stronger under Modi’s leadership, especially with democratic governance in Jammu and Kashmir, and that the NDA had stopped Congress from misusing the constitution to topple non-Congress governments.
